- Despite improvements in breaking down the stigmas that are too often associated with mental illness, openly discussing experiences is still difficult. Resilience is defined as the ability to survive and thrive in the face of adversity; and Mental Health includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
Sarah Crowe, Nurse Practitioner Critical Care, discusses strategies for supporting healthcare providers during challenging times. She will share results from a study conducted in the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic which examined the mental health of critical care nurses. Dan Landry, Infectious Diseases Pharmacist, shares his experience as a healthcare provider with mental illness highlighting the stigmas and barriers patients continue to face in receiving care.
